BAGGED: Oliver Sweeney ‘Wren’ brogue boots
The Fashion God(s) above must have heard my calling in my most recent post discussing my employment in the Fashion industry does not mean I am entitled to every sample, as a freebie.
By magic, I was clearing out my sample cupboard earlier and noticed I had a pair of these lying around however they were not carried over since AW10. A quick word with @Charley1977 and they were mine! Let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like being sample size as the occasional sale here and there, you know you’ll find something for you. More so if you’re well aware of all the samples and product that makes it into the seasonal collection.
Now boots are an absolute essential for the cold seasons ahead of us and I don’t care what you say, they are a must-have ..even if they are often considered lesbian chic. The subtle broguing on these combined with the matte leather finish made these an absolute must-have. If the matte finish isn’t your style then Oliver Sweeney also have a high shine finish with a chunky heel. They’re also on my wishlist.
If you know me personally, you’ll know I’ll wear these with skinnys, shorts and whatever else inbetween. You name it, I won’t be out of them. Contrary to popular belief, Goodyear Welted boots are much more comfortable and durable than I had previously imagined. If you’re unfamiliar with the term Goodyear Welted, it is (summarised) a traditional British method of making shoes on a particular sole.
Chaps, if you purchase anything this season, make sure they’re a pair of brogue boots with a chunky or wedge heel. I assure you won’t regret it!
